We had our hearts set on getting married in Gougane Barra Church, as Paudie’s parents had gotten married there nearly 40 years ago. When we told people our plans for the church, everyone was so quick to recommend the Eccles Hotel as our venue. We looked up the Eccles and they just happened to be having a wedding showcase. We made our appointment and it was all so straightforward.

We attended the showcase and it was like we were walking into our dream wedding day – the decor, the attention to detail, the staff and that view! We could not be more excited and after chatting with the wedding coordinator; nothing we asked for was too much – especially accommodating to our dietary requirements. We decided that we did not need to look anywhere else and we booked The Eccles as our dream wedding venue.

Once we confirmed our date and secured our deposit, the whole process and lead up to the wedding was all very straightforward. We had regular contact with the wedding coordinator through email and WhatsApp and the payments were nicely spread out and manageable.

When the wedding day arrived the staff were all so accommodating. Our family all stayed the night before the wedding and we had organised finger food and an area for us all to gather and start the celebrations. The food was amazing and there was so much variety to cater for vegetarians and coeliacs.

The wedding morning was seamless, which was made happen by the staff. Mags was up first thing in the morning and at our beck and call for whatever we needed. The bridal suite was perfect for getting ready. It was an early start, but there was plenty of space for us to sit back and relax and enjoy the whole wedding process. We also got an amazing fresh breakfast which kept us all going until the reception.

When we arrived back at The Eccles, we were on cloud nine and this feeling was matched by staff when we arrived. We were greeted with champagne on arrival. We took some time in the bridal suite before the drinks reception and we were followed to the room with a plate of sandwiches and more champagne. The drinks reception really kicked off the fun for our wedding and it was great to mingle with our friends and family. Before the reception, we were brought out on the veranda and given some time to ourselves with our bridal party. This was such a lovely part of the day, to catch our breath and take everything in.

The reception then was unbelievable and went better than we could have ever hoped for. The decor and little touches just made the room unforgettable. The food was incredible and something all guests were just blown away by.

All of our guests’ expectations for the day were well and truly exceeded. The hotel also suggested to us the idea of having ‘Singers Waiters’ for after dinner entertainment as they had them at a previous wedding at the hotel. We couldn’t have been happier to have booked them and the hotel staff were excellent at facilitating setting them up on the night as it was a surprise to all our guests.

One of the biggest compliments we could give was that it was all the small things that the hotel and staff did for us that made our wedding so special. Nothing we asked for was an issue and was always greeted with a smile. The whole experience was perfect from start to finish, great value for money and we could not recommend it any higher to future couples getting married.

Myself and my husband got married in Eccles Hotel in October 2023 and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The wedding day itself was perfect. Marie the wedding coordinator focused on every detail and specific request so it was perfect and tailored to our day! The staff throughout our stay worked so hard while also being extremely kind and friendly.
The venue itself is so beautiful and unique with the most amazing views. On top of this, the food is outstanding!
All of our guests travelled a long distance so they were delighted when they arrived at such a beautiful place where they enjoyed the hotel, food, spa, and Glengarriff itself.  I am so looking forward to my next visit to Eccles Hotel soon!

We held our wedding at the Eccles on the 1st of September and the service was incredible. The attention to detail from the team in the run up to the wedding was outstanding. The team took our vision for the function room and made it a reality, they took the stress out of planning the wedding from afar. They looked after our guests and made sure they gave them a warm welcome and a weekend to remember in Glengarriff. The meal was outstanding, the bar staff were efficient, we couldn’t have asked for more. Special thanks to the wedding co-ordinator Marie for stitching my dress on the day after it tore!

We had our wedding reception at the Eccles Hotel and Spa in September and a drinks/food reception the following day. We had an absolutely fantastic weekend! Our guests had a great time at the drinks reception, especially enjoying the cocktails. All the food we ate during our stay was fantastic, especially the wedding dinner. Our gluten-free and vegan guests were stunned at how well catered for they were. The main reception room was just beautiful with candles on all the tables and the stunning bay view in the background! The bridal suite was very comfortable with plenty of space to get ready on your wedding day. The hotel has so much character in every room, giving it a homely feel! It was raining on our wedding day and the fires in the reception were lit, adding a lovely atmosphere as guests arrived. The staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly throughout the whole process. We would like to say a special thank you to Michael and Marie who went above and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed our wedding day and felt relaxed enjoying every moment knowing the fabulous staff had every detail handled. Our only regret was not getting a chance to try out the spa! Would highly recommend the Eccles for a wedding venue or relaxing weekend break.

We got married at the Bantry House and had our reception at the Eccles Hotel. I can only rave about our experiences. They took such fantastic care of us. We came in from Florida with about 30 guests in our party and they treated us like gold even though by all standards we were a very small wedding. Not once did they treat us like we were anything but special.
Marie was our hotel wedding coordinator and she is absolutely incredible!!! She helped me plan my wedding every step of the way and she went above and beyond for us in ways that are just too numerous to count, but that added up to the most special day of our lives. Without her assistance, we would not have had such a wonderful experience. The Yeats Suite was beautiful, the food was incredible – we had our reception dinner and breakfasts there as well, the ballroom was absolutely gorgeous, and so much attention was paid to every detail. I can’t stress enough how wonderfully taken care of we were. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this staff and Marie if you are looking for a beautiful place to get married. We had our wedding at the Eccles and honestly had the most relaxed, straightforward wedding planning experience and an absolutely perfect wedding day. Marie Dooley, the wedding coordinator is a pro at what she does. She never put us under pressure or made us feel stressed. She was always in hand to answer questions or give advice. She had everything organised to a tee and had some lovely small touches for the two of us on the sat, which were really sweet and very appreciated. The staff were so friendly and professional and the food was the best that many of our guests had had at a wedding in a long time, if not ever. The food is top top quality!! I could not recommend the Eccles highly enough as a wedding venue and I could not have been more impressed with Marie and all the staff. Keep up the great work!!

We couldn’t recommend the Eccles Hotel enough as a wedding venue. From the very first meeting, Marie and her team were just so accommodating. There was no request too awkward and they even gave us lots of ideas we hadn’t thought of ourselves. On the day of the wedding everything ran to perfection, the meal was amazing and our guests are still talking about it now. The venue itself is simply beautiful- both the views and the interior décor provide a stunning backdrop for photographs. We just wish we could go back and do it all again!

Cliff and I celebrated our wedding in The Eccles Hotel in May 2022. We initially picked it as it was in a stunning location and had a lovely old-world feel about it. Due to Covid, we had to reschedule and since then the hotel has been renovated and have added the spa. It has modernised the rooms and the finish is impeccable but it still maintains the old world feel that we initially fell in love with. On the day itself, there is nothing we would change. The food was phenomenal and the service was even better. Nothing was too much trouble for Marie the wedding coordinator or any of the staff throughout the hotel. Many of our wedding party remained in the hotel again the day/night after the wedding and the outstanding customer service continued. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever experienced in a hotel. From beginning to end the Eccles exceeded our hopes for our day and I could not recommend them enough. The renovated Yeats suite is also a sight to behold!

We want to say how absolutely outstanding The Eccles Hotel and Spa were for our wedding on the 21st May 2022. From beginning to end it was faultless. From the very first phone call to Marie their wedding coordinator, she was a joy to deal with. Nothing was ever a problem. The reservations manager Sandra was also fantastic. And after all the planning the wedding day came and the hotel made our day just magical. Each of the staff are so professional, helpful and friendly. The food was in the words of our guests “the best they ever had at a wedding”. The location is breathtaking and a beautiful backdrop for photos and again our guests were blown away. We wish we could do it all again next weekend. Richard and I give The Eccles Hotel and Spa 5 stars and more for the best day of our lives. Thank you!

We had our wedding reception at The Eccles Hotel in April 2022, everything about the hotel is fantastic – its location, character, charm, history, style, lovely staff and amazing food. We had to postpone our wedding during the pandemic, but Marie was very accommodating in securing a new date for us. The Yeats Suite is stunning, and we were lucky enough to stay there for 3 nights over the weekend of our wedding. We loved our wedding day, we both got ready at the hotel that morning which was very relaxing, the drinks reception & canapés went down a treat, the meal was beautiful, the staff were very accommodating and everyone had great craic!

We got married at the Eccles in April 2022 and we were both thrilled with our day. Marie was excellent in the run up to the wedding, met us for a coffee a few weeks before and made sure all our questions and concerns were answered and sorted. Everything went smoothly on the day and I must say all the staff we encountered were excellent which makes the day so much better. The food at the Eccles from our canapés, dinner and breakfast was outstanding. The Eccles hotel is only going from strength to strength so we would highly recommend this venue for your day.

We got married at this stunning hotel in April this year and we were blown away. Our guests were amazed by the stunning setting, decor, spa area and views from the hotel – we were blessed with great weather so we got to truly enjoy it. From the beginning, the team at Eccles were so accommodating, striving to create the perfect day tailored to us as a couple. Big thank you to all the staff, in particular Marie, Michael, David, Sandra, Shelley, Mario, Grainne and Malory who created the perfect weekend for us. We suggested a cocktail bar which was outside of their usual wedding packages and we got a big yes from them nothing was too much trouble – the team actually built it for us based on a pic I had and Marie decorated it beautifully. They even brought in mixologists for us to ensure we had the best tasting cocktails and enough people to serve them as we had 200 people. Our guests were so impressed and adored them it was a huge talking point. On top of this – so many of our guests said to us that it was the best food they had ever had – which is exactly what you want to hear after your wedding. The spa staff were also very accommodating – we booked the hot tubs for a few hours the day after our wedding for our guests and they served us prosecco and water and were so friendly. In fact, the entire weekend the staff made us feel so special everywhere we went they knew our names and went out of their way to help. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for everything, it really was the most perfect day thanks to your professionalism, friendliness and hard work. We will never forget it and can’t wait to pop back for lunch soon 🙂

Declan and I were lucky enough to get married in March this year in the stunning Eccles hotel. We had previously had to postpone our wedding and Marie, the wedding coordinator, was more than helpful during a very turbulent time. From our first visit to the hotel, we were blown away by the incredible decor , views from the hotel and the warm, helpful and welcoming staff. The Yeats suite had been recently refurbished and was absolutely amazing for our big weekend. Throughout the planning process Marie and the team were incredibly helpful and flexible to our requests which included changes to the menu and a locally distilled gin bar. Our guests were wowed by the food, Chef Eddie Atwell is a huge selling point on his own ( his honeycomb and chocolate desserts were a huge hit). The entire day and weekend ran smoothly and any minor issues that arose were handled swiftly by Marie and team without us even knowing. Overall, a HUGE THANK YOU to the entire team at the Eccles for everything, it was the most perfect weekend we could have asked for! We are delighted to have an excuse to return to the Eccles and the beautiful Glengarriff for future celebrations!

We got married here in November 2021 and had a great time. Marie Dooley and all the staff were fantastic. The hotel itself, the Yeats suite/bridal suite, and the view out the front are all lovely and very memorable. Everything was very well organised for the wedding and all went smoothly and calmly. The function room and other areas looked great, the food was great and everyone there had nothing but positive things to say all around. I would highly recommend Eccles as a wedding location and we are very glad that we decided to go with them.

We celebrated our wedding at the beautiful Eccles Hotel Glengarriff, Co. Cork on Saturday the 3rd of August. To say that we were treated like king and queen would be an understatement. From the first day, we visited to inquire about holding our wedding there, to our check out after our special day we wanted for nothing. Our wedding coordinator, Rose, is meticulous in everything she does and left no stone unturned for us. Her attention to detail made the wedding look amazing and the feedback from all our guests has been nothing but complementary. All the reception, kitchen and bar staff, led by Sandra, Michael and Adrian were excellent throughout our stay and the Chef Eddie provided us with state of the art food. Even though our morning was wet nothing could put a damper on the amazing ocean and rugged views that surround this hotel. We celebrated our wedding in the Eccles Hotel, Glengarriff on 20th June 2019. To say we made the right decision is an understatement. Everything was magical from start to finish all we have heard from our guests since is how gorgeous the setting was for our special day! From the minute that we viewed the hotel, we knew this was where we had to have our wedding. We walked into the foyer and were immediately transported back in time to a world of vintage elegance-fresh and new, yet retaining such character we knew it was something special. We met Rose, our wedding coordinator and she was the nicest, most accommodating person we had met with in all our venue viewings. She showed us around and went through everything with us and once she showed us how beautifully she would decorate and coordinate the room for our wedding, we were sold! She is so incredibly creative and gifted at what she does-every vision I had for the wedding was enhanced and perfected by Rose. We had nothing to worry about-she had the entire room made up to perfection with vintage paraphernalia that gave us the feeling that we were celebrating in an old world of elegant luxury. The year leading up to the wedding was seamless-any time I needed help, someone was there to give us whatever we needed. Be it Rose, Sandra, Michael or Patrick, everyone absolutely bent over backwards for us the entire time right up to the day of the wedding. Sandra, our reservations correspondent, bent over backwards to help us figure out accommodation for guests coming from abroad, and through multiple phone calls she was nothing but gracious and lovely through our awkward requests and made sure we were sorted on the day. The day of the wedding was nothing short of perfection. The bridal party got ready in the Yeats Suite which is the most beautiful room I’ve ever seen, while the grooms party got ready in another room in a different part of the hotel-so that we wouldn’t see one another! We were brought up the most beautiful breakfast to the Yeats suite, enough to feed an army. Patrick could not have done any more for us, he was at our beckon call throughout the entire day for whatever we needed. The hairstylist and makeup artist even commented on Patrick, saying that in all the weddings they had done, they had never seen someone so attentive without being overbearing. The venue on the day was magnificent. Rose had every detail perfect, from the centerpieces to the table plan and everything in between. The little touches made a huge difference. And then, THE FOOD. The food was very important to us as this is what everyone says they remember most from every wedding, so when I say the food was amazing I don’t just mean by wedding standards. The chef is nothing short of a culinary genius. Every mouthful was heavenly, we had plenty of food to feed everyone and there was no compromise on the quality of food due to quantity. We felt like we got to treat all of our close friends and family to a gourmet meal. The food was so gorgeous that family members of mine have since travelled back just to have lunch there! Everything was handmade and a lot of it grown on-site by the chef himself. He included homemade white aero with pine in the dessert of apple tarte- these touches really made it personal and unusual. I can’t recommend The Eccles hotel enough, not just for the setting but for the people too. It was truly a perfect day, one we will never forget!

We had our wedding reception at The Eccles Hotel on the 8th of June. Right from arriving on Friday night, we had a fantastic welcome. On the Saturday, everything flowed to perfection from the morning til the early hours of Sunday. The ballroom setup, the canapes, the late night snacks, all the way down to the purple edible flower petals decorating the refreshing sorbet that coordinated with the flower colour theme, nothing was a hassle. Our every need was catered for. The Eccles is the icing on the cake that is the stunning West Cork village of Glengariff. Steamed in history, the warm homely environment provides an immediate sense of relaxation and comfort. All our guests were overwhelmed by the service and some are booking a return trip. Our sincerest thanks to Rose, Eddie and all the staff for making our special day one to remember for a long time to come. We’re already looking forward to booking our Winter weekend getaway with spa included!!

We got married here in June 2018 and we were so delighted we chose Eccles. It’s got bags full of old-world charm and it’s in an amazing location in Glengarriff Bay with spectacular sea views from the ballroom. We were really grateful for the outdoor terrace as the weather was magnificent. However the best thing about Eccles was their people and the friendly atmosphere. Rose, Eccles wedding planner was just so pleasant and professional; she really took care of everything!

David the manager was really helpful and you can sense his passion for the hotel. Eddie the chef was very accommodating (we changed the dessert choice a week before the big day!) and his food was divine. Yeats Suite (the bridal suite) was one of the nicest rooms we were ever in. All in all, it was amazing!

Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations. I brought 50 people from the United States to this hotel for my wedding on May 25, 2018. I came sight unseen not really sure what to expect. What we got was an absolutely incredible wedding that my guests cannot stop talking about. The service I received and all of the staff members were SPECTACULAR. David the (new general manager) has brought the service of this hotel to the next level. Even though my wedding was relatively small, he made sure to check on me regularly through out my stay. Making sure that my every need was met.

Everyone from the bar staff to the front desk helped make our stay and our wedding the absolute best. For instance, the front desk woman made sure to have a light breakfast and beverages available for our guests who were leaving at 4:20am to catch a flight. The kitchen wasn’t even open. I have never met more delightful and accommodating people in my life. The food, the rooms, the cleanliness, and the service I would give it 10 stars if I could. If you are thinking of staying here even for a night, you MUST. And if you are dreaming of the perfect wedding, no matter how big or small, this place will make it happen. I wish I had kept everyone’s name so I could thank them personally. When I get a chance to come back to Ireland, I can’t wait to stop by my favourite hotel and stay for a night.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at the Eccles on the day of our wedding. From start to finish they helped to make sure our special day was the best day of our lives. We had so many of our guests contact us to either say it was the best wedding the were ever at or the best meal they ever had or both. The hake and braised beef and all the helpings were unbelievable. The ballroom layout and presentation was perfect. The next day we had a bbq for 70 people although they were only expecting 50 this was still not a problem and once again the food was excellent. Chef Eddie and his team are magic. Honestly, I cannot fault anything on the day, I would highly recommend anyone having their wedding or special event at the Eccles and if the weather is as beautiful as ours then even better. Thanks again to Rose, David, Eddie and all the staff.

We are so glad that we chose the Eccles Hotel for our wedding! From the first moment we walked in, we knew that it was exactly what we were looking for. It has a unique charm and elegance with stunning views over the bay. The new management have done an incredible job of modernising the hotel while still maintaining it’s period style and beauty. From the very beginning the management and staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. We found them very easy to talk to, and we felt that their priority was to make our wedding as personal and enjoyable for us as possible. Rose was a fantastic co-ordinator! She listened to our ideas, made creative suggestions and was very flexible. Even though she was incredibly busy, she still made sure that everything was done on time. We were so pleased with everything she did! On the wedding day, the hotel was decorated beautifully and many of our guests commented on it. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Everything was well-organised and flowed smoothly. We never felt under time pressure even though we were behind schedule arriving at the hotel. We were so relaxed and able to enjoy the day. The food was amazing and so many guests said that it was the best wedding meal they had ever had! When we had our menu tasting a month before the wedding, we wondered if the kitchen could deliver the same standard to a large number on the wedding day…it surpassed our expectations!! Compliments to the chef:) In addition to everything else, the bridal suite is absolutely gorgeous. We were so delighted with the whole day and couldn’t recommend the Eccles highly enough as a wedding venue. Thanks to everyone who made our day so special!

Our wedding day in The Eccles Hotel….I don’t know where to start with my words of thanks and gratitude. From start to finish we had the best day of our lives. The hotel, the location, the staff, the decor, the warmth,the food, the service… everything was exactly what we wanted. We could not have asked for more. Leading into our wedding day the help we got from Rose O Sullivan was outstanding. She was a fantastic wedding co ordinator. The centrepieces she spent hours organizing were absolutely amazing also. We knew we were in good hands with her thank you Rose, Jack and Aileen. The food was absolutely beautiful I cannot fault one thing. As I said from start to finish everything was fantastic! I can’t recommend it enough. The location can’t be beaten. Rooms were fabulous (especially the yeats room) we felt like royalty!! We got married in The Eccles Glengarriff in August 2017. We were one of the first weddings under the new management. We initially had another 4-star venue booked in Cork but having met the new management team at the Eccles and viewing the ballroom I just couldn’t help but changing to what I knew was my dream location in Glengarriff. This meant losing my deposit on the other venue and changing our wedding date but Rose, Aileen and Jack also made me and my husband feel like our wedding – our day was just so important to them and I knew they would do everything to make the day exactly what we wanted and we were not just another wedding but “The Wedding”. We 100% made the right decision – We were made feel so special from the get-go – the venue , staff, food and location was just perfect and our guests were just blown away. The best thing was that our wedding was an entire weekend in Glengarriff- we took over the venue and the holiday village which just added to whole celebration! I can’t recommend or thank the team at the Eccles enough. From start to finish – every detail leading up to the event to the day itself was beyond exceptional. I won’t give away too much details because the staff even added little unexpected surprises throughout the service which was so thoughtful and our guests loved ! Just one example is that we served a 6 course meal to our guests – which included an apple sorbet which was topped with Prosecco served out of beautiful vintage teapots – it was just all these small but Pinterest worthy details that added to our entire day and guests experience. For main course we went for West Cork Lamb Or Monkfish – 160 guests – many foodie friends including people coming from the hotel and restaurant industry – our guests were beyond impressed and commented on how great the quality and standard was. Our guests were also super enthusiastic about the drinks reception & canapés – which were both flowing. I would love to relive the entire weekend again and there is not one detail I would change – I can highly recommend the Eccles Hotel and know that you too would have the best day of your life and it be everything you dream it to be!
